Dress Code
While Sixth Form students at The Ripley Academy are not required to wear a uniform, we do expect all students to follow our Dress Code, which reflects a ‘smart casual’ standard appropriate for a working and learning environment.
Our Dress Code ensures students present themselves professionally, maintain high standards, and set a positive example for the wider school community.
Aims of the Dress Code
-
To help prepare students for the expectations of the world of work
-
To promote high standards and professionalism
-
To ensure clothing choices do not cause offence or distraction
Clothing that is not permitted includes:
-
Items featuring political or offensive slogans or images
-
Beachwear, including swimming shorts and flip-flops
-
Shorts, skirts, or dresses that are significantly above the knee
-
Revealing, cropped, or strappy tops
-
Clothing that is excessively ripped or torn
There may be occasions where other items, not listed above, are deemed inappropriate. In such cases, a member of the Sixth Form team, Senior Leadership Team, or reception staff will speak with you directly.
If you are ever unsure whether something is suitable, please speak to your Form Tutor or a member of the Sixth Form team for clarification.
